time2011/10/12

Utility trailers are attached to the back of your vehicle by a ball and hitch. They enable you to carry loads behind your car with ease. Most utility trailers are equal coupling as kits that have all of the nuts, bolts and accessories you'll need to assemble them on your own. Usually utility trailers are similar in design and assembly despite the different manufacturers.
Lay the crossbars horizontally between the side rails. You should have one at the front and back ends and another in the center of the side rails. Use a wrench to attach the cross bars with the nuts and bolts provided.Turn the assembled unit over. Bolt the tow bar to the center and rear crossbars. Screw the bolts in from beneath on the top side.Bolt the four front spring hangers to the side rails with the bolts, washers and nuts provided.Attach the equal coupling to the spring hangers with the arch facing up. The ends should touch the trailer assembly. Place the axles on top of the slipper rings and attach them with the U-bolts provided.Slide the wheel hubs over the ends of the axles and push the outer bearings onto each. Secure with washers and nuts provided. Loosen the nuts slightly so that the wheel can move freely. Attach the tire to the hubs and lock it into place with the lug nuts. Tighten the lugs with a lug wrench. The tire valve should be facing out.
Turn the assembly over again so that the wheels are on the ground and attach the coupler to the tow bar then attach the safety chain. Insert the equal coupling through the coupler and the tow bar from beneath.Secure 3/4-inch plywood to the bed of the trailer along the front, back and center crossbars with 3/8-inch hex bolts, washers and nuts. Pre-drill the plywood before attaching it.
